Rural, sunny and quiet, but just 20-30 min from downtown Grass Valley, Colfax or Nevada City, 1 hour to Sacramento, 2 hours too Reno and 3 hours too San Francisco. Enjoy nature trails on property and/or access to nearby vast public land trail and road systems.

The camp site is located on 40 private acres that shares a 1200 ft boundary with 40 acres of public land managed by BLM. The property is situated between Grass Valley and Colfax on a knoll top terrace with East and Southeast exposure over looking the Red Dog crossing in Greenhorn Canyon, and the Tahoe National Forest beyond. Drive up, park your vehicle or RV, and set camp. Be one with nature, explore, hike, bike, OHV or 4X4 on trails that link with Tahoe NF and other public lands. Site has fresh potable well water, parking, level pads with room for a few tents and vehicles, fire pit, table, a few chairs and access to an outhouse with a flush toilet connected to a residential septic system. 2 is cozy, 4 is company, 6 is a crowd and 8 is too many. Great sunrise views from camp, and decent sunset views looking west a short, 1/4 mile hike to another spot on the property. Camp is located within the transition zone forest of Black Oaks, mixed conifers, manzanita and other common Sierra foothill vegetation.
