Gregory Butte can be accessed by boat or kayak, and is a fun camping location. If you look carefully, you will notice that a large portion of the butte is shaped like a camel. Gregory Butte is off of Buoy 28 at Last Chance Bay. There are many additional side canyons to explore. The canyon walls in this area are extremely steep and very scenic. 

This hike is a perfect day activity from boating/houseboating/camping Lake Powell. We were houseboating by Gunsight/Cookie Jar Buttes and boated across the bay to Labyrinth Bay. Many people enjoy this section of Lake Powell because of the unsurpassed beauty, relatively low traffic, and nearness of Dangling Rope Marina. There are beautiful campsites and hiking opportunities in this area. If you approach the back of the canyon, keep your eyes open for light colored areas of water. These may indicate rocks just beneath the surface that could damage your boat or kayak. 

West Canyon can be accessed from Buoy 25 at Lake Powell. It is best accessed from Wahweap or Antelope Point marina. Visit the rock formations west of the parking near the launch ramp. The distance of your walk will vary based on how far you want to go. Although Antelope Point doesn't have one specific trail, there is lots of room for exploration around the marina and Lake Powell.  Directions: from highway 98, turn onto Antelope Point Road.
