Gentle ridge overlooking a long horse pasture

Whether enjoying the 80-foot waterfall, rock climbing, or just relaxing, this is a great campsite! With 250 acres at your fingertips, you'll love it here! Your site is private but Stone Mountain Farm is a community so there are people around. So if you want to camp within distant earshot of people, but with total privacy this is a great site for you. The site is also walking distance from the Rail Trail Cafe, where there's live music on the weekends. There are also flying dance classes, trapeze, aerial yoga, bike rentals and events on the farm throughout the summer so let us know if you're interested in extra activities. There are ponds to jump in, muddy- but very refreshing. We swim all summer!

To get to the campsite paste this link into google maps, I added the tent site in and its pretty accurate. - TentRR Grotto View, New Paltz, NY.

Once you're on the farm, follow signs for Stone Mountain Farm. You'll go under a small bridge and the road will turn into a dirt road. You'll feel like you're driving into the woods. Keep going about 1/2 a mile, pass the sign that says “no entry without a reservation” You have a reservation. ;) Past the giant willow tree, near the big farm house, you’ll see a red sign that says TentRR Grotto View. Follow that sign up the little hill and just down the other side. You’ll see another Grotto View sign on the right, park there. Your tent is a short walk up the hill.

On your way you’ll pass the ‘Rail Trail Cafe’ a fantastic little walk up cafe in the woods. Its open Thursday - Sunday and has live music and excellent food. If you decide to stay past check out to enjoy the land, just move your car to Lot A, by the cafe.

There will be sheets, pillows and a blanket in a plastic bag on the bed for you to keep them fresh. There will also be 1 bundle of firewood and water, as well as a few basic camp fire cooking tools at the site. We keep the site very comfortable for camping but its not glamorous, just super comfy.

Please strip the bed and leave the sheets on the bed; and drop the garbage in the dumpster on your way out. Also due to bears in the area please keep food in your car, or in the bench by the picnic table. If you do happen to see a bear just make lots of noise. They’re very shy and afraid of loud noises, there’s a bear horn in the tent also.

If you need more water or wood we’ll leave it for you where you park. If the blue water container runs low bring it down so we can refill it.
Let me know if you need anything at all and have a great trip! Gwyn

Note: This campsite is not safe for small children, there is a cliff nearby with a significant drop-off.
